Dr. Guy Fricano researches communicative aspects of terrorism, political violence, and the exercise of spiritual authority. He holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Chicago and a Master’s degree in Terrorism Studies from the University of St Andrews.

A.A. Cohen is a senior infantry officer in the Canadian Army. He serves in the Reserves and works as a strategic international trade adviser. Cohen fought in Operation ENDURING FREEDOM in Kandahar, Afghanistan, where he was awarded the Chief of Defense Staff Commendation for outstanding initiative and motivation, and for his establishment of vital relationships with the local population. He is the author of Galula: The Life and Writings of the French Officer who Defined the Art of Counterinsurgency (Praeger, 2012).

A.E. Stahl is an Associate at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) – Department of Military and Strategic Affairs (INSS, Israel), and former Fellow at the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT, Israel). He is also a co-founder and the publisher of Infinity Journal. A.E. Stahl is currently writing his doctoral thesis on Israeli strategy (King's College London – Department of War Studies).

Dr. Abdullahi Osman El-Tom is a Senior Lecturer, Department of Anthropology, National University of Ireland, Maynooth, Republic of Ireland.  His publications include Growing up in Darfur, Sudanese Studies Centre, Cairo 2007; Darfur, JEM and the Khalil Ibrahim story, The Red Press, USA, 2011 and Study war no more: Military tactics of a Sudanese rebel movement, The Red Sea Press, USA 2012.

Adam Ahmad is an investigative researcher at the Woodrow Wilson International Center in Washington, DC concentrating on counterterrorism in the South Asian region.

Adam Elkus is an analyst specializing in foreign policy and security. He is Associate Editor at Red Team Journal. He is a frequent contributor to Small Wars Journal and has published at numerous venues including The Atlantic, Defense Concepts, West Point CTC Sentinel, Infinity Journal, and other publications. He is an associate at SWJ El Centro and blogs at Rethinking Security.

Adam Harmon has served with Israeli Paratrooper and Special Operations units since 1990. As an expert on the Middle East, Harmon has participated in premiere US military war games, briefed the US defense community on counter-terrorism best practices, and been a guest on dozens of NRP, CNN, and Fox programs – including Larry King and Hannity. He is the author of Lonely Soldier, which details his experiences with the Israeli military between 1990- 2003. His next book, Unstoppable: Making Success Inevitable by Adopting the Core Principles of the IDF, will be published by Penguin.

CPT Adam Harrison is an I/O Officer. He’s a graduate of BYU with degrees in Psychology and English. He has worked as a Platoon Leader, SBCT ADA Coordinator, Aide-de-Camp, and most recently S3 Air for 3/1 IBCT Fort Knox.

Adrian Hänni, born 1980, is a doctoral student at the Institute of Social and Economic History at Zurich University. He has studied general history, economics and political philosophy in Zurich. He wrote his thesis about terrorism discourse during the first term of Ronald Reagan. Currently, the author is doing research on the discursive construction of the terrorist threat in the United States from 1886 to 1986. His research interests include present history and in particular that of news services.

Ajay Singh received his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and his Master in Social Work Policy from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He currently works at the Cline Center for Democracy at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, focusing on issues related to societal stability in the post World War 2 era. His recent projects focus on the relationship between natural resources and conflict, and the role of demographic variability in civil conflict.

Al Mauroni is a senior policy analyst with the Air Force. A former Army officer, he has over 25 years experience in military chemical, biological, nuclear, and radiological (CBRN) defense policy and program development. He is a graduate of Carnegie-Mellon University and has a master’s of science in administration from Central Michigan University. He is the author of six books and more than two dozen articles on the topic. His last book was “Where Are the WMDs?” published by the Naval Press Institute.

Alain Bauer is Professor of Criminology, National Conservatory for Arts and Crafts, Paris; Senior Research Fellow, John Jay College of Criminal Justice and Beijing University of Law; President, French National Council on Strategic Research; French National Crime Commission, Consultant, New York City Police Department, Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, and Surete du Quebec, Canada.

Albert (Jim) Marckwardt is a Major at U.S. Army North working on Security Cooperation with Mexico and is also a co-author of "The Defense of Jisr Al-Doreaa." 

Alex Calvo is a global economics and international relations professor at European University (Barcelona Campus), and a former teaching and research fellow at the OSCE Academy in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan). He is a law graduate from the School of Oriental and African Studies (London University).

Alex Verschoor-Kirss is a student at Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts. He is currently working on a thesis that redefines the label of religious terrorism by investigating how it is misapplied by both terrorist organizations and spectator audiences.
