Peggy-Jean Allin

Peggy-Jean Allin is a Research Analyst at Arizona State University’s Advanced Capabilities National Security Institute within the Center on Information and Narrative Complexity. Her work addresses the information domain of irregular warfare by identifying and mitigating the impacts of strategic influence campaigns from foreign adversaries. Peggy-Jean is also a PhD Candidate in the School of Politics and Global Studies, specializing in International Relations. Her dissertation develops a theory of epistemic governance, examining the role strategic communication campaigns play in how states seek to establish authority over contested regions. Through case studies including the South China Sea and the Arctic, she analyzes how competing narratives are used to legitimize territorial claims and shape norms of regional order. She is also Fellow of the Phoenix Committee on Foreign Relations, where she engages in subnational diplomacy and contributes to strengthening Arizona’s global relations.
