Nathan Jennings

Lieutenant Colonel Nathan Jennings, PhD, US Army, is the Director of the Art of War Scholars and the Ike Skelton Chair for the Art of War at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, KS. Currently a FA59 Army Strategist with a background in armored warfare, he served multiple combat tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom and the Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan. Jennings instructed history at West Point and taught both military history and joint warfare at CGSC where he holds the rank of Associate Professor. Currently serving as an Associate Editor at Small Wars Journal, Jennings is also a member of the Miliary Writers Guild and currently serves as a Research Fellow with Modern War Institute at West Point. He is a graduate of the US Army School of Advanced Military Studies, holds a PhD in History from the University of Kent, and is the author of, Riding for the Lone Star: Texas Cavalry and the Texas Way of War, and numerous articles with Modern War Institute, Military Review, Joint Forces Quarterly, Army Magazine, ARMOR, INFANTRY, Engineer Bulletin, the Wavell Room, RealClear Defense, and Small Wars Journal. Jennings hails from Palmer, Alaska, and lives with his wife and children in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
