The Institute for National Strategic Studies (INSS) provides the joint warfighter with decisive strategic advantage through applied, cutting-edge research, rigorous analyses, and wargaming exercises sponsored by Department of War stakeholders on priority national security issues. INSS shapes strategy, informs decisions, and mitigates risk to ensure the United States can fight and win.
INSS research focuses on five priority programs: 1) Critical Threats; 2) Defense Industrial Base; 3) Future Warfare; 4) Homeland Defense; and 5) Military Allies.
