Human Rights Abuses and Violations in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea – High-level plenary, General Assembly, 79th session
The three and a half hour video is at the link. HERE.
It does not begin until about the 14 minute mark.
A lot of great speakers but I will cut to the key speaker, the President and CEO of the Committee for Human Rights in North Korea, Greg Scarlatoiu. He begins at about the 41 minute mark.
No one makes the case that human rights are a national security issue better than Greg. He ties north Korea’s human rights denial to Iran, Syria, Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis, and support to Russia for Putin’s War in Korea. This will unfortunately be overlooked by most in the mainstream media. But I hope the media and government leaders will listen to Greg and heed his important words.
Listen to Greg talk about a human rights upfront approach, information, and pursuing internal change inside north Korea to achieve a free and unified Korea to end the human rights abuses and crimes against humanity as well as the nuclear threats. Listen to the “3 stories” he describes that the Korean people in the north need to hear.
I strongly recommend listening to all the speakers but especially Greg’s important remarks.
