DLA Land and Maritime Hosts 2016 Supplier Conference and Expo; DoD and Industry Leaders Converge on Downtown Columbus
What: Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime is hosting its 2016 Supplier Conference and Expo Aug. 29 – Sept. 1 at the downtown Columbus Convention Center. The forum will bring Department of Defense procurement officials and industry leaders together to discuss collaboration, innovation and smart investments with a focus on Better Buying Power.
Incorporating the theme, “Maximizing Warfighter Readiness Today and Tomorrow…the Strategic Advantage of Better Buying Power,” keynote presenters scheduled to speak at this event include the Honorable Frank Kendall, under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics; Army Lt. Gen. Joseph Anderson, deputy chief of staff, G-3/5/7, HQ Army; Navy Vice Adm. Thomas Rowden, commander of Naval Surface Forces, U.S. Pacific Fleet; Marine Corps Maj. Gen. John Broadmeadow, vice director for logistics; and Navy Rear Adm. Vincent Griffith, Defense Logistics Agency J3.
Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther will welcome attendees on Tuesday. A large number of other executives and thought leaders from the acquisition and supplier communities will also speak at the event to share their respective success stories and solutions. In addition, in-depth strategic workshops on cyber security, future requirements, performance-based logistics, and cost and pricing will take place. Individual forum sessions will address timely topics, such as: vendor payment process updates and challenges, DLA Internet Bid Board System, and Small Business.
