“Saving ‘Band of Brothers’ Regiment Goal of the 101st Airborne Division”
Recommendation: Keep 506th at Campbell as the 3d BCT; move 187th to Alaska by reflagging 4th BCT (ABN), 25th ID to 187th ARCT. 101st would retain its WW2 regiments, 187th would get to be an independent unit again, & 25th ID could have all of its BCTs back in Hawaii (after all, kinda hard to claim “Tropic Lightning” status when you’re freezing your 4th point of contact off in Alaska).
