Dr. Lillian Hussong
Dr. Lillian Hussong has worked on Arctic security issues in academia, think tanks, and federal service for 10 years. She serves as an Arctic analyst for the U.S. Department of Defense. She previously taught at the U.S. Naval War College as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Strategy & Policy Department in 2022. Prior to federal service, Dr. Hussong worked for The Arctic Institute | Center for Circumpolar Security Studies for four years, including as President & Managing Director. She earned a Ph.D. in Global Affairs from Rutgers University focusing on U.S. grand strategy in the Arctic and Baltic theaters. She has co-authored several peer-reviewed book chapters, journal articles, and reports on international security issues in the Arctic.
