Venezuela’s Cártel de los Soles

“In this video, I discuss the current hot topic of Venezuela, its dictator, and an organization called Cartel of the Suns.

The Cártel de los Soles (CdS) represents a complex bond between state and crime in Venezuela, especially under Nicolás Maduro. It has a high influence score due to its connections with military and government institutions. While it has access to state resources, this integration limits its freedom.

Cártel de los Soles operates in a secretive manner, using bureaucratic control instead of public displays of power. Although it aligns with Chavismo ideology, its main goal is personal profit and status through exploiting state power. It primarily uses nonviolent methods and claims the right to lethal force against opposition, while trying to conceal violence due to international scrutiny.
