China, Russia, Iran, & North Korea: “A Collective Opposing Force”

America faces an unprecedented challenge: China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea are working together to present the most formidable threat the US-led international order has ever faced. Yet most coverage treats these adversaries in isolation, making it difficult to track and analyze their cooperation over the long-term or anticipate their next moves.
OPFOR Journal was created to fill this gap. Founded by former Army officer and think-tanker Dan White, it documents, analyzes, and anticipates the actions of these four nations, treating them not as separate threats, but as the collective “Opposing Force” or OPFOR they’ve become. OPFOR Journal tracks power—how these nations build it, wield it, and deploy it to threaten the interests of America and allies. Coverage spans the traditional instruments of national power: Diplomatic, Informational, Military, and Economic.
Each week OPFOR Journal subscribers receive a synthesis of Significant Activities spanning all four countries. The weekly format allows time to weed out headline grabbing but ultimately insignificant news events, assess trends, and put events into a broader geopolitical context. OPFOR Journal also publishes periodic situation reports, essays, forecasts and interviews with industry experts on specific topics.
