Small Wars Journal and the Future Security Initiative at Arizona State University invite you to a screening and panel discussion of NOORI, a forthcoming documentary presented by Honor the Promise.
NOORI follows Mr. Ahmad Khalid Noori, a former Afghan Special Operations soldier who escaped the Taliban and is rebuilding his life in America before the birth of his daughter. The film explores service, sacrifice, transition, identity, and belonging through the eyes of Afghan partners and U.S. veterans whose bonds endured beyond the battlefield.
As America continues to reckon with the legacy of its longest war, NOORI offers a timely and humane conversation about Afghan Special Operations partners, the bonds created through wartime service, the invisible wounds carried by those who served, and the possibilities of rebuilding life, family, and community in the United States.
The event will include a preview screening of NOORI followed by a moderated panel discussion with film participants and national security practitioners.
