As President-elect Trump continues to outline his Cabinet nominees and policy priorities, both his domestic and international agenda highlight the enduring, and likely increasing importance of the U.S.-Mexico relationship. This article seeks to provide an objective look at some of the likely challenges in that relationship specific to U.S.-Mexico security cooperation, as well as opportunities for cooperation, based on the agendas and styles of both the incoming U.S. and Mexican leadership teams.
