I've been to the War Memorial in Melbourne and its impressive.

Its largely dedicated to The Great War. And speaking of the Great War, you can find memorial statues located across Australia.

And how well I remember that terrible day,
How our blood stained the sand and the water;

We were butchered like lambs at the slaughter.
