Patrick Senft

Patrick Senft is an arms and munitions intelligence specialist focused on investigating the lifecycle of weapons, covering development, tracing, and the attribution of their use to state and non-state actors inside and outside conflict zones. His expertise spans the technology and deployment of cluster munitions, precision-guided munitions, chemical weapons, and emerging threats (esp. 3D-printed firearms). Patrick employs a hybrid intelligence methodology, integrating open-source intelligence (OSINT) with closed-sources and technical data. He provides evidence and analysis for international investigations, policy-making, and news media analysis. Additionally, he regularly designs and delivers capacity-building programs for investigative professionals and humanitarian organizations, specializing in weapons identification and threat mitigation strategies. Previously, he worked at Armament Research Services (ARES) and the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and holds a Master's degree in Crisis and Security Management from Leiden University.
