The Middle East Institute (MEI) invites you to a discussion on the ongoing escalations in the US-Israeli war with Iran. The Islamic Republic’s newly selected supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has spoken about activating other fronts and keeping the Strait of Hormuz closed. Sweeping evacuations have taken place in southern Lebanon ahead of the Israeli ground invasion to uproot Hizballah, and increasing numbers of tanker vessels, ports, and refineries have come under Iranian attacks.

For analysis into how the war has continued to evolve, as well as insights into how Tehran is responding and being affected by the conflict, we invite you to a webinar discussion featuring Major General Scott Benedict, USMC (ret.) and MEI Senior Fellow Alex Vatanka. This discussion will be moderated by MEI’s Vice President for Policy, Dr. Ken Pollack.

Speakers

He is currently working on his third book, Grand Contest: The Rivalry of Iran, America, and Israel in the Arab World.
