Behavioral Threat Analysis Center (BTAC) Case Study: A Soldier’s Pathway to Separation is hosted by the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency’s Center for Development of Security Excellence. 

In this presentation, BTAC team members describe the case of an active-duty Service member who became a person of concern when he started making concerning statements and direct threats toward his unit leadership. This case involves complex risk factors related to targeted threat, weapons, environment, mental health, and behavioral factors and highlights the centrality of communication, coordination, and cooperation to effective threat assessment and management.
