Call for Papers:
The Journal of Strategic Security (JSS) is an open access peer-reviewed professional journal published quarterly by the Global and National Security Institute (GNSI). We are pleased to announce a call for submissions for our upcoming special issue focused on the evolving landscape of conventional and nuclear deterrence.
Papers may address different issues such as:
- Nuclear Deterrence in a Multipolar World – How shifting power dynamics are reshaping global stability.
- Conventional Deterrence and Modern Conflict – Assessing the credibility, limits, and effectiveness of non-nuclear deterrence in today’s threat environment.
- Missile Defense and Emerging Technologies – The influence of missile-defense systems on escalation and deterrence calculations.
- Escalation Risks and Tactical Nuclear Use – Evaluating thresholds, signaling, and the potential re-emergence of limited or battlefield nuclear employment.
- Alliances, Extended Deterrence, and Strategic Commitments – The role of U.S. and allied guarantees, burden-sharing, and credibility in maintaining regional and global stability.
- Historical Perspectives on Deterrence – Lessons from past deterrence successes, failures, and miscalculations, and their relevance to contemporary challenges.
Submission Guidelines:
- All submissions must be original and not under consideration by any other publication.
- Please format your manuscript according to the JSS style guide.
- Submissions should be made through the online submission system available on the JSS website.
Review Process:
All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review process.
