Jan. 27 (UPI) — Kim Jong Un on Sunday visited the Mansudae Art Studio, North Korea’s premier state art institution under the Party’s Propaganda and Agitation Department. According to Korean Central Television’s report Monday, the purpose of this visit was to guide the sculptural work for the “Overseas Military Operations Combat Merit Memorial Hall.”

While it appears to be a routine inspection of an artistic project, beneath the surface lies a calculated political strategy to legitimize North Korea’s involvement in Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.”
