Since President Donald Trump’s first day of office in January 2025, this Administration has targeted current and former senior leaders, officers, and analysts of the US Intelligence Community–firing some, stripping clearances from others–and has gone on a spree of declassification of sensitive documents for what critics claim are largely political purposes. Intelligence Community reform efforts at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and across the IC, ostensibly to streamline and refocus efforts, have been painted by critics as diminishing efforts to fight foreign intelligence services and foreign disinformation and influence operations that the IC claimed were, in part, aimed at electing President Trump. Recently, the Intelligence Community stymied Congressional oversight by canceling a visit by Senator Mark Warner, Vice Chair of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, from making a routine visit to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.

On Sept. 19 at 10 am ET, the Michael V. Hayden Center for Intelligence, Policy, and International Security hosts Senator Warner for an important discussion of the dangers from this politicization of intelligence and IC to our national security, civil liberties, and freedom, as well as ways in which the IC should be protected from such pressure. The Senator will also take your questions and is interested in addressing any fears or concerns you may have.

Seats are limited—don’t miss it.
