Lt. Col. Fox is a retired US Army officer with multiple combat deployments to Iraq. Amos has a Ph.D. in international relations from the University of Reading and he is a lecturer in political science at the University of Houston and a contributing editor at War on the Rocks. He also hosts the Revolution in Military Affairs podcast and War on the Rocks’ Soldier Pulse and WarCast podcasts. Amos is the author of Conflict Realism: Understanding the Causal Logic of Modern War and Warfare (2024, Howgate Publishing).

Author of the thought-leading book  Conflict Realism: Understanding the Causal Logic of Modern War and WarfareProfessor Amos Fox discusses some of the most important myths and realities of 21st century armed conflict. Topics covered include drones, precision strike, mass, attrition, and proxy strategies.
