The Expansion and Diversification of Mexican Cartels: Dynamic New Actors and Markets

Cristian Brunenkant is a graduate student at Arizona State University, pursuing a degree in Global Security, and an active-duty Air Force Captain serving as an Intelligence Officer. He earned his undergraduate degree in Foreign Area Studies with a focus on Military Strategic Studies from the United States Air Force Academy in 2019, where he authored a thesis on the militarization of the Mexican police force. With extensive academic experience in Latin America and operational experience in Asia, Cristian specializes in addressing multinational security challenges and advancing technology development for US Special Operations Forces. His research interests include information warfare, unmanned aerial systems, and Latin American cartels.
