For the last twenty years, readers of Small Wars Journal were able to have a login name and password, and with that they were able to comment on articles. in the early days of the internet, that was something special and the insightful comments and debates made SWJ a forum where the discourse on war and conflict flourished. Around 2015, SWJ started to have problems with bots and trolls and such. The commenting function had to be shut off because our volunteer team just couldn’t keep up.
The New Small Wars Journal team is hoping to revise that practice of allowing comments on articles and we hope to do so much more. therefore, we have created the SWJ membership program. It costs $10 per year because, well…charging a small fee is the first step to keeping out the weirdos, trolls, and bots. Your $10 will soon get you access to our disqus platform where you can join a monitored discourse on articles and share your ideas. In the next several months, we will be adding newsletters, and other members only content. Also, when you become a member, you won’t see any advertising.
