‘Restrepo’ Director Killed in Libya (Updated)
‘Restrepo’ Director Is Killed in Libya – C. J. Chivers, New York Times. BLUF: “Tim Hetherington, the conflict photographer who was a director and producer of the film “Restrepo,” was killed in the besieged city of Misurata on Wednesday, and three photographers working beside him were wounded.”
Update: The NYT article has been updated. “Chris Hondros of the Getty photo agency died within a few hours of devastating brain trauma.”
Chris Hondros of Getty was also critically injured in the same attack that killed Tim Hetherington. NYTIMES has some of Hondros’ work here:

Kudos to these brave men.
I enjoyed Restrepo. The filmographers stepped back and let the soldiers tell the story with little to no editorializing or politicizing. People who make such movies obviously must accept risks that most in hollywood wouldn’t even dream of taking. And these guys paid for it. R.I.P.
Well I am not very happy today, to hear about the loss of Tim Hetherington and Chris Hondros. I enjoyed Restrepo very much and for the same reasons Duck did – the basic honesty and honour in the style of the storytelling.
