Information gleaned after the killing of Osama bin Laden seems to indicate that bin Laden was much more centrally involved in running al Qaeda. Even so, his death is not a decisive blow to the network and it would be wrong to hail it as such. In fact, al Qaeda's enduring links to other militant Islamist groups in the region and the expansion of the al Qaeda-linked Haqqani Network's operational territory inside Pakistan serve to broaden the group's room to maneuver and increase its survivability.

For years now the 'experts' have claimed that Bin Laden was distanced from AQ operations,of little relevance and no longer giving orders--a has been,a lame duck,etc,etc.NOW,all of a sudden,after realising that a 'boogeyman' is still needed,out come the 'experts' with new news claiming that B L was,after all,still heavilly involved and in control of things...It seems that the 'experts' have no idea what is,or was,going on and make it up to suit the occasion.You certainly cannot blame people for thinking such thoughts.So much changing of stories had completely discredited an otherwise well carried out operation and the govt and their 'mouthpieces' really need to wake up and read from the same page.Cheers.
