Michael L. Burgoyne

Major Michael L. Burgoyne, a U.S. Army Foreign Area Officer, currently serves as the Andean Ridge desk officer at U.S. Army South. He holds an MA in Security Studies from Georgetown University. MAJ Burgoyne deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003 as a squadron logistics officer and again in 2005 as commander C Troop, 3d Squadron, 7th Cavalry. He is the co-author of The Defense of Jisr al-Doreaa a tactical primer on counterinsurgency.
