James Robert “Rob” DuBois

BIO

Rob DuBois is a security advisor, speaker, executive coach, and retired Navy SEAL. He was labeled a “smart power authority” while serving as interagency liaison to the Iraqi Ground Forces Command (IGFC) in Baghdad. Rob is author of Powerful Peace; A Navy SEAL’s Lessons on Peace from a Lifetime at War, and founder of the consulting firm “Impact Actual.”

Powerful Peace has been commended by many icons of global security including General James Mattis, now U.S. Secretary of Defense. A year before his current appointment, Secretary Mattis emailed Rob to say, “You’ve written a masterful work, more humanistic and compelling than any I’ve read in a very long time. You were successful in your design: you DID expand my perspective. Of course once expanded a mind is hard to reduce, so I’ll remain grateful for the education. I will surely treasure Powerful Peace and no doubt refer to it in the future.”

Besides Iraq, Rob has worked in more than thirty-five nations, helping manage complex threat situations, societal development, cross-cultural communication, and stability efforts. He speaks Russian proficiently, Turkish conversantly, and Arabic poorly.
