All good things must come to an end and it is with excitement and gratitude that I contemplate the end of my tenure as Editor of the Small Wars Journal. This is my last week in that capacity, after which I will be turning my focus wholly on my tranisition from the Marine Corps and into my next career.
It has been an amazing opportunity to act as Editor of the SWJ, largely because of the great quantity and quality of works submitted by our community of engaged and passionate professionals, many of them entering the arena for the first time. I am truly grateful for the opportunity afforded me to connect with these people.
I look forward to meeting many SWJ readers at the Defense Entrepreneurs Forum in October. In the meantime, I go on terminal leave from the Marine Corps in three weeks, after which I'll spend some time with my family and then will embark on my next career. I'm working on "what comes next" and hope in the next few weeks to have closed on one of several opportunities in the pipeline right now. Whatever it is, I'm fairly certain that it will be outside of the defense and policy realm for now.
In closing, my thanks to the writers, the readers, and to Dave Dilegge for this great platform.
