Colonel Nicholas J. Lorusso, U.S. Army Reserves, most recently served as the commander of the 91st Legal Operations Detachment in Darien, Illinois. He earned a BA in History from the University of New Orleans, a Masters in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College and a Juris Doctor from LSU Law School. Previous joint assignments include CJTF 180-Operation Uphold Democracy (Republic of Haiti) and the Office for the Administrative Review of Detained Enemy Combatants (Guantanamo Bay, Cuba). He is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College, the U.S. Army War College, the Brigade Pre-Command Course, the Joint and Combined Warfighting School – Hybrid and the U.S. Army Airborne School. As a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, COL Lorusso passed legislation creating, and subsequently served on, the Battle of New Orleans Bicentennial Commission.
