Dr. Sean Costigan is Professor, George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies. Costigan joined the Marshall Center in July 2016 and is Professor of Transnational Security Studies, focusing on cybersecurity and emerging security challenges. He also leads development of cybersecurity and hybrid threats curriculum for the Partnership for Peace Consortium. Dr. Costigan also serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Connections, the quarterly journal of the Partnership for Peace Consortium. In 2023, Dr. Costigan was awarded the Serge Lazareff Prize for his contributions to the Office of Legal Affairs of NATO SHAPE. Dr. Costigan was awarded the Cyber Visionary Leadership Award from the Cyber Security Summit in 2020. He has a PhD in Criminology and Cybersecurity, University of Portsmouth and a Master of Arts, History of Science from Harvard University.
