Rafael Velázquez Flores is an International Relations professor at the School of Economics and International Relations of the University of Baja California. He holds a PhD in International Studies from the University of Miami. His research interests focus on Mexican foreign policy, US-Mexico relations, and security studies. He was president of the Mexican International Studies Association (AMEI). He is a member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences (AMC) and belongs to the National System of Researchers (SNI). He is currently president of the Center for Teaching and Analysis of Mexico's Foreign Policy (CESPEM).
