James Sheehan is the Head of US Partnerships and Development for ICSR. James has over 7 years experience in non-profit management, external affairs, and fundraising. Furthermore, he has extensively examined extremist messaging and radicalization and has been published on these topics by NC-START at the University of Maryland and ICSR. He is a regular contributor to the online defense and strategy journal, War on the Rocks.
In addition to national security, James worked for nearly 7 years in the civic education sector for the Close Up Foundation, a DC-based democracy education non-profit. There he managed the Foundation’s grant writing, coordinated Congressional outreach, and worked to build relationships between the Foundation and the DC public policy community.
James holds an MA in Terrorism, Security and Society from King’s College London and a BA in History from Marist College.
