Welcome New Small Wars Journal-El Centro Fellows

Small Was Journal is pleased to announce the addition of Michael L. Burgoyne, Irina A, Chindea, Max G. Manwaring, and Robert Muggah as El Centro Fellows.

The Small Wars Journal-El Centro Fellows are scholars and senior practitioners studying insurgencies, criminal insurgencies, crime wars, and the crime-terror nexus with an emphasis on Latin America.  The new cohort of fellows brings significant operational and academic experience to the initiative. Lieutenant Colonel Michael L. Burgoyne is a US Army Foreign Area Officer with experience in the Americas (Mexico City and the Andes); Dr. Irina Chindea is an Associate Political Science at the RAND Corporation in Washington, DC; Dr. Max G. Manwaring is retired Professor at the US Army War College and a retired US Army colonel; and Dr. Robert Muggah co-founded the Igarapé Institute in Rio de Janeiro where he serves as research director and is executive director of the SecDev Group.  Detailed biographies of web new fellows are found at the El Centro Fellows page.
