Commenting Just Got Easier

Our TypeKey / TypePad commenter authentication gizmo has stopped a LOT of spam, but it has also stopped lots of legit commenters dead in their tracks. For the few and proud who didn't have any problems with it, carry on, it is still an option. But for the many of you who have had troubles, you can now bypass TypeKey and comment away.

See, look Ma! No TypeKey!

Greyhawk:

Outstanding.

OMG, WTF, oh, I have to actually craft a real commentary now - damn...

Anonymous:

I've wanted to comment for some time, but the typekey was discouraging... will try to post now that the change has taken place.

Anonymous:

I too was discouraged by typekey - thanks for the change.

This was a long overdue change, and now we're right up there into the 20th century. :)

The last time we turned off TypeKey, we got clobbered by spam, and it rattled us. We realize the silly little challenge is still a PITA for you. But it has already intercepted ~250 attempts in ~24 hours to enlighten us all to good deals on Nokia products and Kim Kardashian's video adventures. So it has it's value. We're working on future changes, but for now this seems to work. Which is more than we could say about TypeKey, no matter how cool that was in theory.

Snuffysmith:

Thank you.

IntelTrooper [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Erm, can you PM me the link to the Kim Kardashian video? kthxbai.

After pressing Post, it will probably take a while (15-30 sec?) for your comment to register and pages to rebuild. Please be patient.
