Trying to figure this one out, hopefully the Air Force is not actually blocking all urls with the word blog as a part... Any hoot, if you are reading this blog from an US Air Force controlled network please let us know, either via e-mail or in the comment secton below. Thanks.

The Air Force is tightening restrictions on which blogs its troops can read, cutting off access to just about any independent site with the word "blog" in its web address. It's the latest move in a larger struggle within the military over the value -- and hazards -- of the sites. At least one senior Air Force official calls the squeeze so "utterly stupid, it makes me want to scream."

I can read this from the computer network at AFIT (Air Force Institute of Technology in Dayton, Ohio). Since it is a strange mix of USAF and edu security measures, I can not say that it applies outside of this institution.

I suspect this is an attempt to block access to the free blog hosting services - some of which allegedly have a spam/virus problem. Since the SWJ doesn't host with a free site, you should be fine.
