James Burton

James Burton is a pseudonym for an active duty Sergeant Major. He has been in the Army for 15 years, all in Special Operations. He initially served with 7th Special Forces Group before transferring to a more CT focused unit in 2004. He has served in CT focused positions since. During this period he served a total of nearly six years in combat zones across the globe. Although his work has been entirely CT focused, much of his time was spent working with local partner forces. His extensive work with partners throughout the world has provided a deep understanding of the local component of many of the larger strategic problems the United States faces. He holds a BA in Intelligence Studies from AMU.

The best example of a group worthy of our attention, care and support is the northern Syria all-female self-defense unit, the Women's Protection Units (or Women's Defense Units - YPJ).
