Douglas A. Livermore

Douglas A. Livermore is a Special Forces officer with extensive leadership and operational planning experience obtained over nearly a decade of military service in both the Infantry and Special Forces.  In addition to multiple combat deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan, Doug has engaged in several sensitive contingency operations in Mali, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Central African Republic, Uganda, and Djibouti.  He is a distinguished graduate of the Special Forces Detachment Officer Qualification Course as well as the Special Forces Unconventional Warfare Operational Design Course.  Currently, Doug is serving as the Multinational Special Operations Planning Director for a Combined Special Operations Task Force fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan.  In addition to holding degrees in Military History and Military Arts and Sciences from The U.S. Military Academy at West Point his experiences have provided him unique and detailed insights into the areas of unconventional/guerrilla warfare, counterinsurgency, counterterrorism, and international stability operations.  You can connect with Doug on LinkedIn.  The opinions and positions stated here are his alone and do not represent the views or policies of the Government of the United States or any of its agencies.
