Chris Elliott

Chris Elliott is currently undertaking a Master of Anthropology at the Australian National University in Canberra. Prior to this, he completed a Bachelor of Arts in Security Studies, Arabic and French at the ANU. His research focusses on nomadic peoples, ethno-nationalism, the anthropology of conflict and trans-national arms smuggling.

In addition to this, he has served for five years in the Australian Defence Force, first as an infantry soldier and currently as an RFSU patrolman (reconnaissance and surveillance) with the Far North Queensland Regiment. His experience serving with indigenous soldiers in the latter role has fuelled further research into hunter-gatherer societies and aboriginal Australia.
