Buddhika B. Jayamaha, a veteran of the 82nd Airborne Division with deployments to Iraq, is a PhD student in Political Science at Northwestern University. He is studying how the relationship between armed actors and the political structures shape institutional evolution over time. He is continuing his field research in Iraq, Somalia, Nepal and Turkey.
